This article will outline the fix for QB 2014 R6 bug, which causes Method sync engine to stop working and throw an error.
Resolution
QuickBooks 2014 R6 update has bugs including one that causes the Method sync engine to not sync, and to throw the following error:
“““Microsoft .NET Framework….System.TypeInitializationException: The type initializer for ‘MethodIntegrationEngine.QuickBooks’ threw an exception. —> System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x8007007F): Retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSID {45F5708E-3B43-4FA8-BE7E-A5F1849214CB} failed due to the following error: 8007007f. at MethodIntegrationEngine.QuickBooks..cctor()””
This issue can be resolved by updating the QuickBooks 2014 R6 to QuickBooks 2014 R7. The Updated patch en_qbwebpatch.exe is available on Intuit Support Website. You can follow the intsructions on the Intuit Website to run the patch.
