Welcome to the Report Designer documentation! Here you’ll find step-by-step instructions and guides on how to make the most of your Method Report Designer experience. We’ll be delving into some pretty involved concepts in this section of the documentation, but before we can get started on the nuts and bolts of making a great report, let’s talk about what the Report Designer is, and what its job is in Method.
Reports express data pertaining to the day-to-day running of your company: customer lists, yearly profits, shipping manifests and more. Method Report Designer helps make every report you generate look great and make sense. Report Designer is used to build custom templates that can be applied to a variety of information within Method. Once you build a report template, you can use it over and over again at the click of a button to express information for you, your team, your customers, or anyone else who needs access to the information.
Despite its name, Method Report Designer is not limited to creating just report templates – you can also build invoices, estimates, work orders, charts, graphs and all sorts of other templates you use frequently in your Method environment.
Method Report Designer will only run on a Windows-based computer, so you’ll have to make sure you are running a Windows machine or a Parallels desktop on a Mac platform. Make sure you do this before you download Report Designer.
When the install is finished, you can find Report Designer under Start > All Programs > Method > Method Report Designer. The program will automatically launch when the installation is complete.
And there you have it! Now that your Report Designer is installed, we can get down to it. Take a look at the rest of our documentation for more details.
